Numerical Investigation of the Behavior of Unstiffened Semi-Rigid Top and Seat Angle Connections under Monotonic Loading

In steel structures, unstiffened top and seat angle connections (TSACs) show semi-rigid behavior transfer both the vertical reaction some end moment of beam while also making degree rotation. The moment–rotation TSACs has been evaluated using experimental numerical analyses under monotonic loading generally compared in linear elastic region. this paper, three-dimensional (3-D) finite element models were developed based on data available from literature to accurately obtain results along curve. verified with curves deformed shapes angles connections. that model study is adequate predict TSACs. effects bolt material properties, diameter, pretension load, friction coefficient, gage distance investigated model. parametric almost same obtained for by increasing strength load varying coefficients. ultimate capacity was increased a decrease distance.
